Patient Collections

We are seeking a Patient Collections Specialist to join our team! Please inquire within!

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Review and analyze patient accounts to ensure accuracy and completeness of billing information.
• Utilize medical coding knowledge (ICD-10, ICD-9) to assign appropriate codes to diagnoses and procedures.
• Process claims for reimbursement from insurance companies and government programs
• Follow up on unpaid claims and denied payments, identifying and resolving any issues or discrepancies.
• Communicate with patients, insurance companies, and healthcare providers to resolve billing inquiries and disputes.
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records and billing information.
• Adhere to all relevant healthcare regulations, including HIPAA guidelines.

EXPERIENCE:

• Minimum of 2 years of experience in medical billing or collections.
• Proficiency in medical terminology, DRG coding, and medical office procedures.
• Strong knowledge of ICD-10 and ICD-9 coding systems.
• Familiarity with medical billing software and electronic health record systems.
• Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in data entry and record keeping.
• Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to effectively interact with patients, insurance companies, and healthcare providers.

REQUIREMENTS:

- High school diploma or equivalent required; associate's degree in healthcare administration or related field preferred
- Certification in medical coding (CPC or CCS) strongly preferred
- Knowledge of medical collection practices and regulations
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $19.00 - $22.00 per hour
