Haver Analytics, a database firm tracking macroeconomic and financial data located in midtown, is seeking energetic candidates with an economics/finance/data science background to join our growing team.
You would help collect, organize, and update key macroeconomic and financial figures while running quality assurance to ensure the validity of government and third party source releases. Further tasks would involve the creation of new data series/data sets and learning how to automate processes such as web extraction and data conversion using Python, Eviews, and other tools.
This is an excellent opportunity to learn about important economic and financial indicators that the community of economists, strategists and risk managers within the corporate marketplace and public sector rely on.
This is an entry-level, part-time position. There is a minimum of 20 hours worked per week (up to 40). College students and recent graduates are encouraged to apply.
This job posting is for our Asian shift work hours (4:30 PM to 1:30 AM time window). The Asian shift operates Sundays to Thursdays. We are flexible with the number of hours/days per week you would like to work.
The company is currently working in a hybrid environment. You will need a computer with good internet connectivity. Two of your work days per week will be in-person at our New York City office location. All employees will need to be fully vaccinated in order to access the office environment safely.

Requirements:
- Submit cover letter and resume.
- Economics, finance or data science major/degree and state your GPA.
- Interview remotely via Zoom (normally in person) and live within commuting distance.
- Be detail oriented, with good computer and communication skills.
- Be able to work at least 20 hours a week.
- Familiarity with Python, Eviews, or any other coding languages / statistical software is a plus. Use of these tools are taught in-house and not a prerequisite.
