We are looking for multi-skilled candidates with a quantitative background for the position of Marketing Data Analyst - GIS Specialist. Analysts are responsible for discovering patterns and trends through spatial mapping, developing mapping applications and tools and managing a digital library of geographic maps in various file types. Analyst will gather, analyze, and compile data needed to identify trends and patterns, then make recommendations for business actions.
Responsibilities
Partner with leaders/stakeholders across the organization to ensure we are effectively using data and visualization tools to drive informed decision making.
Use spatial analytics, geographical information systems (GIS), and related data visualization techniques to garner insights and provide recommendations for office locations and targeted marketing efforts to support a nationwide campaign of consumer facing educational seminars, designed to spur buying activities.
Gathers business intelligence from a variety of sources including company data, industry reports, public information, or purchased sources.
Assesses market strategies by analyzing service offerings, markets, or trends.
Uses business intelligence data and tools to identify and monitor current and potential customers.
Identifies markets for future development and methods to improve sales of existing services by analyzing trends.
Compiles business intelligence or trends to support actionable recommendations.
Analyzing spatial data through the use of mapping software.
Discovering patterns and trends through spatial mapping of data.
Designing digital maps with geographic data and other data sources.
Producing maps showing the spatial distribution of various kinds of data.
Produce reports on geographic data utilizing data visualizations.
Performs other related duties as assigned.
Required Skills
Bachelor’s degree in Data Analytics, Geography & GIS, Computer Science, Statistics, Data Science, Marketing, Business, or another analytical discipline from an accredited college or university or equivalent experience.
The ability to inspect, cleanse, transform and model data from various sources with the goal of discovering useful information/trends, informing conclusion, and supporting decision-making.
The ability to understand the "big picture" and the interrelationships among various parts of the organization.
3-years in an analytical role specializing in data manipulation, interpretation, report writing, and data insight summarization/reporting.
Using a Geographic Information System (GIS) specializing in demographic analyses; OR
Writing R code or similar functionality within other statistical tools; OR
Writing SQL.
Conducting Financial performance analysis.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
Ability to collect and compile relevant data.
Extremely organized with great attention to detail.
Excellent ability to analyze information and think systematically.
Strong business analysis skills.
Works well independently and as part of a team.
Thorough understanding of the company’s business processes and the industry at large.
