Anticipated Opening - Position is contingent on funding and student enrollment
Summer Program: Bartlett School & Assessment Center - Grades K-12
Dates/Hours:
July 1st - August 8th
Monday - Thursday
7:50 am - 2:20 pm
Subject to change based on student enrollment; start and stop times
Salary:
School year rate for current Job Coach employees; $27/hr for non-Job Coach employees.
Organizational Relationship
or Line of Authority:
Directly responsible to the Summer Coordinator and/or the Director of Special Education and/or his/her designee
Statement of Duties:
- Work with children with Autism and PDD related Syndromes, ages 14 - 21.
- Participate as a member of the Evaluation Team when appropriate.
- Evaluate children who have been referred, developing appropriate reports and documents as required related to employment, community use and functional skill acquisition.
- Train classroom instructional Educational Support Personnel to work with identified students.
- Provide, as appropriate, materials for assigned students to function more successfully in the classroom, community, and job site.
- Work cooperatively with the Principal, other personnel, and with parents.
- Develop and monitor job sites, as needed.
- Other general duties as indicated by the Alternative Director, directives of the Superintendent of Schools or his/her designees, and policies of the Haverhill School Committee.
Qualifications:
- Minimum of Associate’s Degree; Bachelor’s Degree preferred.
- Previous teaching and/or successful experience working with students with autism in employment and community activities.
- Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the Superintendent of Schools may find appropriate and acceptable.
