Under the direction of the Senior Director of Talent Management, the Human Resources (HR) Business Partner (HRBP) will be responsible for a variety of Talent Management (TM) activities and duties related to recruitment, compensation, benefits, training, and employee relations.  This position is responsible for technical and administrative talent management functions, recordkeeping, file maintenance and HRIS.  The HRBP is a Human Resources professional who effectively leads others to achieve our TM goals and initiatives.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
  • Drafts and finalizes job descriptions to attract talented candidates; review posts of internal and external job listings.
  • Participate in candidate screening/interviewing process to ensure new hires align with TM goals. 
  • Reviews resumes or applications; coordinates and conducts interviews; produces job offers; processes background and reference checks, etc.
  • Coordinates temporary staffing arrangements.
  • Conducts new hire orientations, including compiling health and welfare packets, COBRA information, etc.
  • Coordinates compensation and benefits activities.
  • Assists with reconciling and processes TM-related invoices. 
  • Coordinates and facilitates processing of employee awards.
  • Assists and facilitates benefit open enrollment meetings, prepares materials and communication, etc.
  • Collaborates with Payroll for compensation and time-related processes and reporting.
  • Assists with development, planning and implementation of various TM initiatives such as compensation, benefits, and performance management programs.
  • Work with employees and managers to assist with various TM needs (employee relations matters).
  • Strategize ways to improve the relationship between the Company’s leadership and employees, especially as it relates to the Collective Bargaining Agreement (CBA).
  • Assists with solving complex personnel issues.
  • Assess and develop TM strategies and processes.
  • Draft and/or evaluate Company TM policies in accordance with organizational goals, industry trends, standards, labor laws, CBA compliance or other regulations.
  • Recommend, implement, and enforce TM changes/compliance.
  • Administers employee programs, i.e., uniform and safety shoe programs, etc.
  • Supports Company and employee engagement in community-related activities.
  • Ensures accuracy and timeliness of updating employee records in HRIS.
  • Serves as custodian of all employee records, both soft and hard copy files.
  • Assists with production of HRIS reports.
  • Analyzes TM practices; recommends employee relations, employment, compensation, and benefits policies to establish competitive programs and ensure legal and CBA compliance. 
  • Administers and assists with Affirmative Action Plans, EEO logs, VETS data, etc.
  • Supports record retention compliance.
  • Maintains FMLA, HFLL, TDI, LOA tracking and records to ensure compliance.
  • Provides administrative support to the Safety function including OSHA recordkeeping. 
  • Supports workplace safety training by ensuring all training is documented and filed; programs are conducted as required.
  • Administers the Hearing Conservation Program.
  • Assists and participates in Company safety initiatives, programs & communication, etc.
  • As custodian of all employee records, maintains proper security for employee files, implements and maintains accurate filing system.  Follows privacy procedures at all times.
  • Maintains security access and data base for badge access system.
  • Processes performance evaluations and inputs data into HRIS.
  • Coordinates training and development programs.
  • Coordinates Company-wide meetings and TM events.
  • Coordinates organizational changes.


OTHER RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Provide administrative backup support as needed.
  • Perform all duties and maintain all standards in accordance with Company policies and procedures.
  • Regular attendance is required for the position.


EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, AND SKILLS REQUIRED:
  • Bachelor’s Degree, preferably in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field and three (3) years of progressively responsible experience, or Associate Degree and five (5) years progressively responsible experience.
  • Strong customer service orientation with strong communication (both verbal and written) and good listening skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills to work directly with employee, manager, and executive level personnel frequently.
  • Ability to establish and build key relationships to collaborate and work effectively at all levels.
  • Solid understanding of the workings of HR and great sense of business acumen.
  • Proficient math skills and proficiency with computer applications such as MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, etc.
  • Produces accurate work, with attention to details; a sense of urgency; and ability to handle multiple priorities.
  • Ability to plan, organize and prioritize work to consistently meet due dates.
  • Ability to maintain confidential information in a professional manner.
  • General knowledge of both state and federal employment laws.

  • Excellent oral and written communication skills are required as this position communicates with and responds to employees, customers, co-workers, management, outside trade persons and vendors.   Composes letters; creates broadcasted communications.  Reads and comprehends somewhat complex documents.
