Our client in Columbus, OH is seeking candidates for a Production Planner. This role will develop production schedules to ensure that production deadlines are met and determine material, equipment, and labor requirements. The Production Planner will communicate status and performance reports to plant management and resolve production issues. We are seeking candidates with three or more years of Production Planning experience.
Primary Duties
Scheduling the plant production based on labor, material and equipment availability
Daily communication with plant leadership regarding priorities and resources
Verify bills of materials and routing accuracy
Execute procurement of required materials
Communicating lead-times and expected completion dates to the sales team
Optimizes resource planning operations and monitoring inventory levels
Identifies and acts on exceptions to demand or production schedule
Provide information to and coordinates with Procurement Team to aid in the schedule for consumption of components
Maintains open communication with customers, manufacturing and support personnel, and subcontractors to assure manufacturing plans are clearly understood and fulfilled
Assists in coordinating engineering changes
Interfaces with NMI and schedules pre-customer release development runs
Maintains accurate records and documentation for history and audit purposes
Maintains updated procedures in support of Quality System Requirements
Provides assistance to Purchasing to determine material usage per part for annual blanket order estimation
Minimizes/eliminates obsolete material
Participates in monthly/annual physical inventories
Qualifications Required
3 or more years of Production Planning experience in Automotive, Aerospace or Medical production
Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Logistics, Business, or related field (strongly preferred but not required)
Knowledge of SAP required
Must be open to 100% onsite work, this position does not offer a remote option
Ability to be flexible with schedule including some weekend work as needed
Knowledge of manufacturing plant operations
Strong written and verbal communications skills
Must possess solid analytical skills in forecasting and anticipating production needs and capabilities.
Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of changing situations under stress.
Strong interpersonal skills requiring the ability to resolve conflicting interests and obtain cooperation
