Summary:
The Server/Bartender Dual Role will greet the with guests with a smile and respond quickly to requests in a friendly and courteous manner informing them of daily specials and answering questions. Serve the guest beverages while providing friendly, attentive customer service that exceeds the guest expectations. Provide timely and professional service in the restaurant, show complete knowledge of all menus and pricing, as well as proactive, customer-oriented attitude. You will rotate bartending and serving shifts weekly with other associates in this role.
Compensation: $15.50 Tips
Schedule: Friday - Sunday, 11:30 AM - 6:30 PM
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Ensure the safety of guests and associates.
- Greet guests with a smile and respond quickly to requests in a friendly and courteous manner, informing them of daily specials and answering questions.
- Knowledgeable of all menu items and pricings.
- Must understand and adhere to basic service procedures.
- Efficiently take and deliver food ad beverage orders from guests, input into the POS system, and ensure timely and consistent service of orders
- Mix and serve alcoholic and nonalcoholic drinks for guests.
- Has common knowledge of wines and mixed drinks and makes suggestions to guests.
- Deliver food and beverages ensuring timely, consistent and quality food.
- Keep bar area clean, safe and organized.
- Monitor bar inventory and report to Bar Manager.
- Maintain a clean work area and perform side work at the end of the shift.
- Process guest payments for food and drinks served and providing change as needed; Balance cash receipts; Maintain an accurate cash drawer throughout the shift.
- Be willing to assist fellow associates as needed.
- Mix drinks using an extensive range of ingredients including liquor, bitters, soda, water, sugar, and fruits, including company and craft cocktails.
- Mix all drinks based on the company recipes, keeping drink costs at a minimum.
- Deliver a consistently high level of customer service to each client and maintain a safe environment by identifying problem clients and having them removed.
- Take beverage orders from guests or wait staff and serving drinks as requested, paying extreme attention to detail
- Provide a positive and friendly guest experience by interacting with patrons
- Extensive wine, beer, liquor and craft cocktail knowledge.
- Check identification to verify legal age requirements for all guests.
- Keep a well-stocked bar with an adequate supply of liquor, beer, wine, mixers, ice, napkins, straws, glassware, and other accessories
- Organize the bar area to streamline drink preparation and inventory.
- Slice, pit, and prepare fruit and garnishes for drinks.
- Maintain friendly, polite, and appropriate behavior (such as posture, eye contact, smile, etc.) throughout the whole interaction with the guest
- Monitoring all patrons for alcohol intake to appropriate levels and attempting to curtail inappropriate behavior.
- Thank the guests for coming and invite them to return.
- Make management aware of all issues in regards to malfunctioning equipment, and/or damaged furnishings in the restaurant.
- Understand and adhere to the Ponte values, safety and service standards.
- Understand and adhere to environmental standards set by the winery.
- Perform any other tasks as requested by Management.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Must be at least 21 years old.
- Ability to obtain and maintain a valid Food Handlers Card is required.
- Must be available nights, weekends, and holidays.
- At minimum 1 year of bartending experience with a total of 2-3 years of serving/bartending experience.
- Ability to treat all associates and guests in a respectful manner.
- Must have excellent communication, multi-tasking and organizational skills.
- Must have exceptional grooming standards that are consistent with company guidelines.
- Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 lbs.
- Must be able to work in a standing position for long periods of time.
- Must be able to work up to 8 hours per shift.
