Haymarket’s Medical Communications Group is seeking a Media Strategist to play an integral role in developing business proposals that serve the needs of our clients and drive revenue. This position is located in our New York, NY office.


Job Overview:

This is an exciting opportunity within Haymarket’s growing pre-sale team. Media Strategists will receive client RFPs (Request for Proposal), review all supporting materials and understand client/band objectives. By working closely with an experienced sales team & using a thorough knowledge of the Haymarket Medical Network’s suite of products, you will craft comprehensive and thoughtful RFP responses. This includes understanding and managing product rates, inventory and KPIs.


This highly collaborative position offers a unique learning experience in all things digital-media related within the rapidly expanding pharmaceutical field. You will work alongside the Audience Development team to build custom audiences based on behavioral data to maximize potential for engagement and ensure successful programs. Media Strategists also work closely with several internal teams including AdOps, Client Success, Contracts and Marketing.


You will step into a position that is a senior role within Media Strategy with opportunities to lead the team through mentorship and identify trends that will inform the business direction. The ideal candidate will be resourceful, ambitious, organized, a strong communicator and thrive on tackling new challenges. Attention to detail and problem solving skills are essential for success in this position.


Responsibilities:

Leadership

  • Identify new projects and initiatives as the department continues to grow and adapt to market conditions
  • Working with the manager to ensure smooth communication between Media Strategy and internal teams
  • Adopt a mentorship role with junior members of the Media Strategy Team, facilitating training and growth opportunities
  • Represent the Media Strategy Team at internal and client-facing meetings

Proposals:

  • Partner with the sales team to understand client goals and objectives to brainstorm strategic solutions
  • Own the RFP process for our medical advertisers by creating strategic proposals in response to advertiser requests, including the development and maintenance of: media kits, sales presentations, print and digital media plans
  • Uncover and address client needs while highlighting the value and capabilities of Haymarket products
  • Maintain in-depth knowledge of all advertising products, inventory, and pricing
  • Apply data/research to support Haymarket’s value proposition in client-facing recommendations
  • Track RFPs to closed/sold opportunities
  • Develop knowledge of internal processes as they relate to AdOps, Marketing and Editorial to provide succinct, comprehensive proposals with attainable goals
  • Work with internal teams to build custom audiences tailored for each client’s needs under the guidance of your manager
  • Carefully evaluate all RFP materials to accurately interpret client’s objectives
  • Innovate more efficient ways of tracking inventory

Competitive Intelligence:

  • Research competitive intelligence and proactively present to the to the Sales Organization
  • Present creative solutions through identifying trends and patterns


Skills and Requirements:

Qualifications include:

  • 2 - 3 years of industry experience or related work
  • Strong communication skills and a logical thinker
  • Superior attention to detail and organization
  • Advanced Excel and Power Point Skills
  • Knowledgeable of the latest digital advertising trends and online media
  • Ability to adapt to a fast paced environment
