Key Responsibilities:
- Reviewing project plans, specifications, and requirements to develop accurate cost estimates
- Analyzing project requirements to determine the most cost-effective construction methods
- Identifying potential cost savings opportunities and providing recommendations to the project management team
- Developing and maintaining relationships with suppliers, subcontractors, and other vendors to obtain the best pricing for materials and services
- Preparing and presenting detailed cost estimates to project management teams and clients
- Collaborating with project management teams to develop project schedules and budgets
- Ensuring that all estimates are submitted on time and in compliance with project requirements
- Providing ongoing support to project teams throughout the construction process
- Participating in project meetings and providing input on cost-related issues
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field
- 5-10 years of experience in civil construction estimating
- Strong understanding of construction methods, materials, and industry best practices
- Ability to read and interpret construction plans and specifications
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and construction estimating software
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work well under pressure and meet tight deadlines
