Responsibilities
- Supervises a staff of quality inspectors and sets workload priorities. Directs workers engaged in inspection and testing activities to ensure continuous quality assurance over materials and products.
- Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, prioritizing workload and assigning and directing workforce accordingly, appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
- Makes recommendations for the continuous improvement of quality programs on an ongoing basis.
- Ensures that finished goods Bills of Material agree with the actual configuration of components used to build products.
- Compiles monthly Quality Assurance Report for all management and supervisors.
- The Quality Assurance Manager ensures that all internally fabricated parts, purchased parts and finished products conform to engineering prints and performance specifications and is responsible for rejecting and quarantining all parts and products that do not meet specifications.
- Review history of parts and use all available information to determine what procedure is causing part rejection rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
- Maintains SQC Charts for processed parts Ensures that rejected parts are properly dispositioned.
- Obtains first piece approval from Corporate Engineering, on all new products
- Ensures that changes are made when an ECR is received and that first piece approval is obtained from Corporate engineering and quarantines all returned goods into a RGA hold area.
- Ensures that all purchased parts from outside vendors are inspected and meet or exceed quality and performance standards on a timely basis per vendor certification program.
- Communicates daily with the Plant Manager, Manufacturing Manager and Chief Engineer as well as first line supervisors when quality problems arise. Communicates with Corporate Engineering and Quality Assurance.
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, quality control and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of employees of organization. Ability to read engineering drawings.
Qualifications

- Demonstrated leadership, interpersonal, decision making, and planning skills.
- Familiarity with swimming pool equipment, applications, and industry standards.

Certificates & Licenses
- ASQ (CQE, CMQ, or CRE)
- Valid Driver's License, ASQ Certification
Education / Experience:
- BS, preferably in a technical field (Engineering, Science, or Math)
- 5 years of work experience in Quality Assurance Manufacturing, Operations, and/or Engineering.
