Veterinary Assistant

Haywood Road Animal Hospital is a privately owned small animal hospital in Greenville, SC. We have three easy to work with veterinarians and a fun, hardworking staff. Customer service with a smile is a must. Have a passion to help both our clients and their pets. We are a growing practice and adding to our team AGAIN ! Hard working, responsible and reliability are a must. Must be able to work in a team and independently as required by the position.

Responsibilities- May include but are not limited to:

• Feed and weigh animals
• Clean cages and bathe animals
• Sterilize equipment and clean examination tables and rooms.
• Restrain animals during examinations or vaccinations.
• Soothe upset or frightened animals.
• Administer medication prescribed by Veterinarians.
• Observe animal behavior or health condition and report to the Veterinarians.
• Help in cases of emergencies.
• Handle scheduling appointments or calling patients in the examination room by priority.
• Help send out reminders and maintain confirmation of appointments.
• Keep accurate records and logs.
• Reassure clients that their pets are being cared for and explain issues.
• Advise pet owners on nutrition and healthcare.
• Help monitor and care for surgery patients.

Skills:

- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written
- Excellent attention to detail and ability to follow instructions accurately
- Ability to work well in a team environment, collaborating with veterinarians and other staff members
- Compassionate and empathetic towards animals and their owners
- Ability to multitask and prioritize tasks effectively

Hours:

• 4 days a week
• 9-hour workdays
• No weekends

Pay: $15.00 - $20.00 per hour
