Responsibilities

The Clinical Technology Systems Analyst I role will provide Tier 1 support, end-user training, and configuration for the electronic health record and other clinical applications. The role will work with the Technology Services department and end users to ensure optimal performance and stability of the system(s), successful implementation of enhancements, effective testing and assessment of releases and upgrades, and accurate, up-to-date training materials and sessions are delivered.

  • Electronic health record and other clinical applications support:

    • Provide Tier 1 support for the electronic health record and other clinical applications following the incident and problem management policies and processes.

    • Configure application security and access per the access management policies, processes, and role-based security guidelines.

    • Prepare and maintain documentation for quarterly security audits.

    • Monitor and escalate system performance issues.

    • Mentor staff performing Tier 1 support for the electronic health record and other clinical applications following the incident and problem management policies and processes, as needed.

    • Knowledge article creation and maintenance.

  • End user training:

    • Administer the training program for the electronic health record and other clinical applications following the training program guidelines and processes.

    • Maintain training program content, agendas, schedule, and supporting resources, including but not limited to user guides, job aides, recordings, and collaboration platforms.

    • Conduct in person and virtual training sessions utilizing a variety of training methodologies to accommodate differing skill levels and adult learning styles following the training policies and processes, as needed.

    • Administer end user competency evaluations related to the electronic health record and other clinical applications, as needed.

  • Implementation of enhancements:

    • Gather and analyze requirements for configuration changes in the systems.

    • Maintain technical documentation such as technical requirements.

    • Prioritize, plan, design, and implement configuration changes to support enhancement requests per the change management policies and processes.

    • Facilitate and communicate enhancement deliverables.

    • Ensure accurate and timely completion of assigned enhancement tasks.

    • Lead user training sessions, update or create training documentation related to enhancement requests including but not limited to virtual training sessions, creating, or updating user guides.

  • Package installation, routine releases, and major upgrades:

    • Complete regression testing for any package installations, releases, and major upgrades to the systems including thorough documentation of testing results.

    • Complete an assessment of passive enhancements included in package installations, releases, and major upgrades to identify and document enhancement impact on clinical operations.

    • Complete system testing on impactful passive enhancements included in package installations, releases, and major upgrades including thorough documentation of testing results.

    • Develop and execute communication plans for package installations, releases, and major upgrades.

    • Create and update training materials including but not limited to user guides to align to new functionality made available from package installations, releases, and major upgrades.

    • Knowledge article creation and maintenance.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, information systems, healthcare informatics, or a closely related field or 6 years of related work experience.
  • Minimum of 0-2 years of experience supporting complex applications to include design, installation and configuration, upgrades, maintenance, and problem resolution to ensure business
  • continuity, failover, and high availability. Complex applications such as electronic health records, business applications, etc.
  • Experience writing training documentation, instructions, and tip sheets.
  • Experience with an ITSM tool.
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary team.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Knowledge of Hazelden Betty Ford Foundation business practices.
  • Experience in healthcare, including behavioral health.
  • Experience with Oracle Health Millennium platform.
  • Experience leveraging Agile and/or lean methodologies and principles.
  • Successful completion of Cerner Millennium: Fundamentals course within 6 months of hire.
