Full Shift is from 10PM-5:30PM. Duties are broken down as follows:
Assistant Teacher Classroom Duties (10AM-3:30PM):
- Assist the 2 lead teachers with two small groups of kids (4year old classroom-pre-k) in implementing lesson plans and educational activities
- Create a safe and nurturing environment for children to learn and grow
- Assist with daily routines and transitions, such as breaks, mealtime, naptime, and outdoor play
- Collaborate with the lead teacher to assess children's progress and development
- Maintain a clean and organized classroom environment
- Foster positive relationships with parents and communicate regularly about their child's progress
-Assist in leading classroom if a lead teacher should be absent
-Assist our leads during our outdoor program and be comfortable being in all sorts of weather for up to 3 hours.
Closing Duties (3:30PM-4PM):
-Clean/sanitize restrooms
-Very light classroom cleaning (vacuuming rugs, emptying garbage cans, sanitizing, etc)
Aftercare Duties (4-5:30):
-Lead aftercare program (1-3 children on average)
-Assist in locking down school with office admins
Qualifications:
-18 years or older
- Minimum of a high school diploma or equivalent; associate's degree in early childhood education preferred
- Experience working with children, preferably in a preschool or toddler care setting
- Knowledge of early childhood education principles and practices
- Familiarity with behavior management techniques and strategies
- Ability to effectively communicate and collaborate with colleagues, parents, and children
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Patience, empathy, and a genuine love for working with young children
-Able to pass a background check
-Experience in roles that require reliability, responsibility, and safety
-Love of nature and being outdoors
-Able to stay calm and clear headed during hetic or stressful moments
The Assistant Teacher position requires a foundation/interest in early childhood education, as well as experience working with children of various ages and abilities. The successful candidate will have a passion for helping children learn and grow and be open and excited to grow as an educator. This role requires excellent flexibility (someone who can roll with the ever changing envoronment of a classroom), communication skills, as well as be able to work collaboratively as part of a team. The Assistant Teacher will play a vital role in creating a positive and engaging learning environment for young learners.

Pay: $20.00 - $22.00 per hour
