Director, Global Engineering

The Director, Global Engineering for CA, reports to the VP, CA Global Operations & Supply Chain and will serve as the leader for the Global Capital Project Management CA global business unit. The position directly supervises the Global and International Project Engineering team and is a member of the CA Operations & Supply Chain Leadership Team.
The position has ownership of the establishment and execution of the Engineering and Capital Management strategy and ensures its alignment with the enterprise's business strategy and the delivery of capabilities required to achieve business success.The Director, Global Engineering brings a current knowledge and future vision of capital execution, robotics, automation, analytics, and strong financial acumen supporting H.B. Fuller Capital as a weapon strategy. They will leverage functional expertise and cross-functional experience or awareness to maximize CA Capital Investments.
Primary Responsibilities
Sets the mission and vision of the Engineering organization to foster a business-oriented and customer-centric culture and mindset, while ensuring safety, quality, reliability in the design and installation of assets.
Acts as a trusted advisor and builds and maintains relationships with other C-level executives and business unit leaders to develop a clear understanding of business needs. Ensures cost-effective delivery of capital projects to meet those needs and responds with agility to changing business priorities.
Directs the design and implementation of the Engineering and Capital Management operating model, organizational structure, and governance process. Uses influencing and negotiation skills to create synergies across the organization to enable cost-effective and innovative shared solutions in achievement of business goals.
Provides leadership, coaching and direction to the Engineering staff - 6 direct reports.
Champion the development of network optimization,
Leads and manages Engineering firms and contractors.
Provides direction on what processes, people capabilities and emerging technologies should be assimilated, integrated and introduced within the Engineering organization.
Provides strategic direction and oversight for the design, development, operation and continuous improvement of Engineering processes that fulfill the needs of the business.
Engages and works with HR and key stakeholders to map out scenarios for Engineering workforce transformations, with considerations to diversity and inclusion. Develops the engineering workforce strategy and action plans that align with and enable the effective execution of business and engineering / capital management strategies.
Develops and maintains an engineering workforce with the appropriate mix of business knowledge, functional skills and competencies.
Participates and partners with the business leadership team to drive culture change, often in support of digital business transformation.
Minimum Requirements
Bachelor of Science Degree in Engineering.
15 years of managerial experience in Manufacturing / Engineering, with demonstrated knowledge of adhesive or equivalent manufacturing process and systems.
15 years of experience working with cross-functional teams, with a leadership role in driving systems, process, change management, NPI, and improving manufacturing operations.
Capital Project Management experience, capital portfolio of $20M USD.
FEL process experience- implementation and practitioner.
Global Project Engineering Experience.
Process Safety Management (PSM) experience.
Financial acumen and an understanding of ROIC and NPV calculations.
Experience in M&A, site integration and footprint consolidation.
Experience with Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE)
Ability to travel 50% domestic and international.
Preferred Requirements
PMP certification
Process experience in a liquid batch process manufacturing facility
Heat transfer and mass transfer operations knowledge
Demonstrated experience with Process Improvement in Lean, Six Sigma, RCCA, SWOT-Exercises, material flow, Theory of Constraints, etc.
Experience supporting/executing PHAs, JHAs, MOCs, and FMEAs
Experience with customer interaction
Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to education, work experience, certifications, and geographic location.
The salary for this role is $126,218 - $165,662.In addition to your salary, H.B.
