What are the responsibilities and job description for the Production Assembler position at HBD Industries?
Position Summary
The Armature Department has responsibility for running various production equipment operations to manufacture custom motor components as specified in blueprint drawings and specifications. This position reports to the Production Supervisor, with an indirect or functional reporting to the Manufacturing Manager.
Primary Responsibilities
- Must be able to coil specified size wire winds according to specification sheet.
- Responsible for set up and adjustment of various machines.
- Must be able to use tools and gauges to check specified dimensions.
- Must be able to read and understand work packets assigned to maintain required tolerances.
- Responsible for performing first piece inspection and completing quality control sheets as required.
- Must be able to perform simple maintenance of operating equipment or report appropriately when safety issues are found or additional repairs are needed.
- Must be willing and able to perform other tasks as assigned by Manager, Lead Person, or Supervisor.
Experience and Education
- High School Diploma preferred but not required
Technical Skills
- Must be able to read blueprints and specifications
- Must be able to use measuring instruments and understanding of basic mathematics
- Must be able to use hand tools and manufacturing equipment for production operations
Physical Requirements
- Flexible and long hours sometimes required. Physically medium duty work required.
- Requires standing continuously and walking occasionally throughout the day.
- Able to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects up to 25 pounds frequently.
