What are the responsibilities and job description for the AP/AR Clerk position at HBE, LLP?

The AP/AR Clerk provides day-to-day clerical support for Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable.

Please note this position requires you to be in office in Lincoln, Nebraska.

AP
• Maintains vendors in accounting software, secures W-9s and prepares 1099 reporting
• Accurately review, code and process vendor invoices
• Performs research and analysis of vendor accounts to resolve issues
• Handles vendor inquiries
• Enters and codes monthly employee reimbursements in electronic payment platform
• Reconciles month end vendor statements 
• Maintains vendor records and vendor documents both electronically and manually
• Prepares ad hoc vendor reporting as requested by various departments  
• Reconciles monthly company credit card 


AR
• Maintains client data base including new client setup and terminations
• Responsible for posting daily cash receipts and adjustments
• Posts customer payments and adjustments to client accounts
• Reconciles accounts receivable activity to the general ledger
• Prepares month-end client statements and applies finance charges when applicable
• Review AR aging and perform low level collections activities
• Performs analysis of customer accounts to answer questions and resolve issues related to customer accounts
• Responsible for contacting clients/vendors for clarification on invoices
• Handles client inquiries
• Regularly communicates the with the Finance Department
•  Ability to work 40 hours per week with occasional overtime
• Other duties as assigned

Competencies
•  Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite or related software as well as other accounting software programs preferred, Oracle NetSuite a plus
• Excellent organizational, interpersonal and communications skills

Education and Experience
• High school diploma or equivalent required; Associate's or bachelor’s degree in Accounting preferred
• At least two years of related experience required
