Job Summary and Qualifications
As the Director of Environmental Services, you will direct and manage the Environmental/Linen services daily operations within the hospital and assigned campus locations, providing a consistently clean, sanitary environment throughout the hospital while ensuring that State, Local, Federal and Joint Commission regulations and standards of performance are met.
As part of your responsibilities, you will:
- Direct the effective operation of all Environmental Services activities in the organization to provide for an aseptic and aesthetically pleasing environment through coordinating and supervising all functions of the department
- Hire, train, supervise and hold accountable staff for room cleaning, floor surfaces, trash/linen removal and special cleaning projects
- Establish patient, employee and environmental safety infection control and EOC management as a leadership priority and maintain consistent compliance with specified safety and practice standard
- Coordinate the purchase of chemical equipment, linen and other supplies as well as outside services that deal with trash, pest control and window cleaning to meet the needs of the hospital
What qualifications you will need:
- High school diploma or GED Required
- Certification through IEHA or ASHES preferred
- College degree preferred
- One year of experience in Health Care Environmental Services Management required Must be able to work in environments containing human blood and body fluids
