Director Sterile Processing

What you will do in this role:
The SPD Director, under the general supervision of the VP of Surgical Services, assumes administrative and technical responsibility, 24 hours/day, 7 days/week for specified functions in Central Processing Department (CPD). The Director is responsible for planning, directing, and supervising all functions of SPD and manages all assigned personnel, supplies, and equipment. In collaboration with the VP of Surgical Services, this individual is responsible for the ongoing assessment of quality of services provided in these areas by all levels of technicians. Actively participates in the selection, evaluation, counseling, staff development and termination of unit personnel. Functions as a resource person for staff members and assists in necessary education of individual members of the staff with a focus on promoting clinical competency. Responsible for assisting with preparation and planning of budget needs for SPD. Works closely with Clinical Coordinators from above mentioned patient care services as well as with professional employees and non-professional employees of the hospital utilizing SPD services.
Qualifications
What qualifications you will need:
- Prior Central/Sterile Processing leadership experience required.
- One year in OR setting mandatory
- Maintains CRST Certification (Certified Registered Central Sterile Technician) or Certified Surgical Tech Certification
