Job Summary and Qualifications
The plumbing lead is responsible for preventive and corrective maintenance of hospital equipment and building components specifically to do with plumbing systems. Under the general supervision of the Engineering Manager, the plumbing lead will diagnose problems, offer solutions, and act to ensure the safety, care, and comfort of staff and patients. Sets an example in professionalism and workmanship.
ESSENTIAL JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Performs a variety of skilled maintenance, alteration and repairs to machinery, equipment or facilities as assigned and in accordance with basic skills and abilities, and standard procedures, diagrams or manufacturer’s instructions as required.
- Install new and replacement equipment and building components.
- Performs preventive maintenance on hospital equipment.
- Executes miscellaneous work orders and answers trouble calls as required.
- Responds quickly to trouble calls throughout the hospital
- Responsible for documentation necessary to maintain records for the facility according to department policy.
- Assist purchasing agent in ordering parts and supplies needed for maintenance.
Job Requirements
Experience
Plumbing: Five years’ experience relevant experience in a large commercial industrial or health care facility.
EDUCATION:
- Required: Required-High School education or equivalent required.
- Preferred: Degree from trade or technical school.
- Associates degree in HV/AC, Electrical, Plant Operations or Maintenance related field.
LICENSE/CERTIFICATION:
- Required: Plumbing License
