Job Summary

As a Food & Nutrition Services Call Center Manager, you will be responsible for all aspects of the division culinary patient call center, assuring a high level of customer service and patient satisfaction. The position provides direct supervision of the culinary concierge team, processing patient meal requests and completing diet office report processes.

 

What you will do in this role (included but not limited to):

  • Operates the culinary patient call center, assuring that division, company and regulatory standards are met. Fosters effective collaboration between call center and facility foodservice departments to assure an integrated approach in providing services that meet the needs of patients.

  • Supervises centralized call center for patient foodservice throughout the division, assuring appropriate and timely processing of patient food/beverage requests. Assures timely and accurate processing of all meal orders, tray tickets, and diet office reports. Demonstrates service excellence principles in all interactions with patients, family members and caregivers.  Assures patient safety, dignity and privacy at all times.

  • Participates in division-wide teams to collaboratively develop standard menus for patients.  Assists in implementation of menus in division facilities and coordinates with call center. Works with Computrition System Administrator to assure all menu components are entered in CHS. Assures annual review of menu with appropriate refinement.

  • Maintains expected service levels via appropriate selection, orientation, competency, training, education, assignment and scheduling of staff. Models, fosters and drives patient focused culture through assuring service excellence "must haves" are practiced and hardwired. Demonstrates responsibility and accountability in continuously assessing work process/design to enhance productivity and service delivery to meet stakeholder expectations and business goals.  Manages staff performance through regular review, real time feedback, and performance planning. Ensures performance reviews are conducted on time. Actively coaches and mentors staff. 

Qualifications

Education and Experience

  • High School Diploma or equivalent (GED) required, Bachelor's Degree in related field preferred.
  • Experience in hospital foodservice required, with 2-3 years supervisory/management experience.  Previous experience in healthcare patient foodservice and/or call center environment required.
  • Knowledge of modified diets, foodservice and culinary activities and duties, terminology and nomenclature required.
  • Computer experience with all aspects of food service to include but not limited to Diet Office and/or Call Center processes required.
  • Certified Dietary Manager (CDM) in lieu of degree, with additional experience
  • Serve Safe Certification or equivalent required.
