We are seeking a Charge Nurse to join our Oncology unit. The shift is 6:45 PM to 7:15 AM with rotating weekends.

Job Summary and Qualifications

The Registered Charge Nurse is responsible for the delivery of quality patient care utilizing the nursing process under the direction of departmental leadership. Apply your nursing knowledge derived from education and experience as foundation for patient care, communication, and documentation on the unit. We are seeking a Registered Charge Nurse who has the same passion for patient care as we do· You will provide quality patient care, in keeping with the philosophy and objectives of the hospital and department.

What you will do in this role:

· You will maintain and support the standards of nursing care and practice in order to meet the healthcare needs of patients, their families and the community

· You will prescribe, delegate and coordinate all nursing care provided to assigned patients and be responsible for meeting all standards associated with performance, nursing practice and nursing care.

· You will assess, plan, implement, evaluate and coordinate treatment plans in collaboration with the patient, the patient’s family and other members of the healthcare team.

· You will demonstrate the ability to manage critical situations and make care-based decisions.· You will educate patients regarding their medications, procedure and treatments, providing patients and their families with support throughout their stay.

What qualifications you will need:

• Graduate of an accredited school of nursing. BSN required or obtained within 3 years of hire.
• Currently licensed as a registered professional nurse in the state of practice and/or active compact license, in accordance with laws and regulation. 
• Current American Red Cross or American Heart Association Course BLS or BCLS and ALS or ACLS.
• Two years of clinical practice in the clinical specialty of unit required.
• Leadership/management experience preferred.
