This Registered Nurse position is part of our Ortho/Spine Specialty Nursing Team. Our Ortho/Spine Team is providing care for patients within this 30-bed unit following elective surgeries including hip, knee, shoulder, and spine (plus some general surgery overflow). This position offers a full time 36 hours/week schedule, regularly consisting of 12-hour (7a-7p) shifts with weekend rotations.

The RN is responsible for the observation, assessment, nursing diagnosis, planning, intervention, and evaluation of care; health teaching and counseling of the ill, injured, or infirm; and the promotion of wellness, maintenance of health, and prevention of illness of others. Administers medications and treatments as prescribed or authorized by a duly licensed practitioner authorized by the laws of this state to prescribe such medications and treatments.

*Minimum of one year prior acute care RN experience (in any specialty) required for bonus eligibility; not applicable to current HCA employees or those employed by HCA within prior 12-month period.
Qualifications
Education
- Nursing Diploma or ASN; BSN preferred.
Licensing/Certifications
- Current FL RN license required or appropriate compact licensure. If compact license held, active FL RN license required within 90 days of hire.
- Current BLS Certification from the American Red Cross (HCA chosen provider) OR American Heart Association required.
- Current ONC (Orthopedic Nurse Certified) preferred - required within 6 months of certification eligibility.
Qualifications
- Previous experience in an acute care setting strongly preferred.
- Lifting 50 lbs. maximum with frequent lifting and/or carrying of objects weighing up to 25 lbs.
- Critical thinking, service excellence and good interpersonal communication skills, ability to read/comprehend written instructions, ability to follow verbal instructions, PC skills
