Job Summary:
The Senior IT Architect in the Development Solutions department is responsible for the architecture and design of development efforts, driving adoption and appropriate use of technology and consulting on internal and external development efforts to ensure code quality and sound architecture. This is a leadership position that assumes the responsibility for project success and the upward development of team members. They are to be a liaison between system infrastructure team, the development team, and able to work collaboratively with business customers to meet objectives.
General Responsibilities:
- Strategic enterprise planning to align IT software capabilities, policies, and standards with business needs
- Take a lead role on software architecture, design decisions, and mentoring.
- Working directly with Business Partners to provide guidance on how to design and implement software solutions that solve the business need
- Develop, propose, and provide guidance on implementation of large IT and Business initiatives
- Ensure that proposed solutions follow HCA’s architecture standards, including presenting before Parallon Architecture Review Committee as appropriate.
- Advise on infrastructure needs to support developed solutions. Following up post development to make sure that CPU, memory, and storage resources are appropriate and optimized.
- Managing development projects thru inception, elaboration, development, testing, and implementation with the help of other assigned resources. Using various tools: Java, Spring Framework, Spring Boot, Kubernetes.
- Completing Unit Testing and participating in Peer/Code Reviews of other developers work
- Providing advanced software development troubleshooting to other development teams
Education, Experience and Certifications:
- Bachelors degree
- 10 years of experience in a Development Role
- Experience with Java 1.8 and later
- Experience with messaging engines like RabbitMQ
- Understanding of data standards like JSON and XML
- Experience in data bases such as MS SQL Server, Couchbase, and/or Oracle, with an understanding of data modeling
- Ability to create, maintain, and performance-tune SQL queries.
- SDLC management through GitHub.
- Understanding of Service Oriented, Microservice and Event based Architectures principles
- Experience with container platforms like Kubernetes.
- Exposure to cloud technologies such as Microsoft Azure and Google Cloud Platform.
- Ability to operate and communicate effectively within deadlines
- Experience as an effective member of teams
- Ability to work with little supervision
- Performs other duties as assigned
