POSITION SUMMARY:
The Patient Sitter functions under the supervision of a first line supervisor and performs delegated functions. Duties include: sitting/monitoring patients in person that are "High Risk for Falls" and/or risk of injury to self or others. Demonstrates knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to patients served. Demonstrates knowledge of principles of growth and development over life span and possesses ability to collect data reflective of patient status and report to registered nurse. Completes a competency skills checklist within 3 months of employment. Exercises professional judgment in performance of services and maintains a demeanor complimentary to medical ethics. Provides services to pediatric, adolescent, adult and geriatric patients. The Patient Sitter will perform duties and responsibilities of all lesser included jobs and performs other duties as assigned.
