Job Summary and Qualifications

DUTIES INCLUDE BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO:

• Assumes responsibility for daily management of the CBO Billing Staff (including Coders, Billers and coding and billing supervisor.).
• Overall responsibility for managing assigned staff, including full performance management (Interviewing, hiring, and disciplinary actions including up to termination of employment according to Policies)
• Promotes coding documentation practices which contribute to the accuracy, integrity, and quality of patient data
• Reviews coding and billing audit outcomes to identify opportunities for improvement and assist in evaluating effective action plans
• Provides coding guidance in accordance with the Official Guidelines for Coding and Reporting developed by the cooperating parties and HCA policies.
• Monitors the flow of work of assigned staff and reassigns as workload demands.
• Monitors and analyzes all reports for the operational success of the CBO.
• Monitors daily coding and billing productivity to ensure department is in compliance with billing and coding timelines.
• Demonstrates strong understanding of all Center managed care contracts with third party payers including Medicare and Medicaid.

What you will need:

EDUCATION:

• Bachelors Degree in Business or Health Care Administration desired and/or extensive relevant experience may be considered in lieu of degree.

EXPERIENCE:

• Minimum (5) years of experience in a medical office setting highly preferred. (i.e. ambulatory surgery center, hospital, doctors office) preferred.
• Minimum of five years prior supervisory experience.
• Demonstrates understanding of patient accounting principles in managing large volume accounts receivable and accounts payable in a health care related field.

CERTIFICATE/LICENSE:

• CERTIFICATE/LICENSE: Coding certification from AAPC or AHIMA required
