Primary Responsibilities:
Duties of HDR's Senior Mechanical Engineer include: acting as lead engineer of record for mechanical projects and designing mechanical systems for highly integrated facilities; participating in review meetings with internal or external team and various governing agencies for code compliance; coordinating workload through the entire project development to complete documents on schedule and budget; reviewing load calculations, static pressure calculations, pump head calculations, and energy analyses; developing mechanical specifications; AutoCAD and 3D BIM modeling of systems; developing mechanical equipment schedules; performing periodic job site observations for projects, as needed; working with others, within the team, or outside of the team to complete mechanical system designs for more complex projects; and mentoring junior staff as needed.
Required Qualifications
A Master's Degree in Mechanical Engineering, or a closely related engineering discipline, and 5 years' experience in mechanical engineering or a Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering, or a closely related engineering discipline, and 7 years' experience in mechanical engineering.
Required experience must include experience in: commercial and federal projects; water/wastewater projects; design of HVAC, plumbing, and fire protection systems; developing specifications; selecting equipment; Revit; AutoCAD; and mentoring junior engineering staff.
Professional Engineering licensure (from any US jurisdiction).
LEED Green Associate certification.
