After School Program Swim Instructor
Responsibilities:
The After-School Program (ASP) at Head-Royce School offers swim lessons every Fall and Spring
during the academic school year. The role of ASP Swim Instructor consists of offering both private and
semi-private swim lessons to students within the grade levels K-5th. Instructors will offer 30 minute
lessons to students, M-Th for four weeks, starting at 3:00pm and ending at 5:30pm.
Skills:
- Implements swimming and water safety instructional programs; prepares and delivers technical guidance, age-appropriate and skill-focused lessons based upon participant abilities.
- Enforces safety rules and regulations to prevent accidents. Makes rescues and administers first aid when necessary.
- Interacts with parents/guardians on the activities and development of students’ swim skills
- Works collaboratively with participants and other aquatics staff (as needed) to ensure a positive learning environment.
- Inspects and maintains swimming pool and equipment for functionality; ensures proper placement and availability in the pool area; recommends maintenance and repair as needed.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- Current CPR/First Aid certification
- Water Safety Instructor Certification (WSI)
- Lifeguard certification (if interested in lifeguarding as well)
Compensation:
$23-$25/hour, dependent upon experience
