What are the responsibilities and job description for the Director of Lacrosse Operations position at HEADstrong Foundation?
The Executive Director of Lacrosse Operations directs the day-to-day team and training operations of HEADstrong Lacrosse Club. The position is responsible for directing and managing all aspects of team formation, management, background checks and compliance, team training and development. The position is also responsible for overseeing execution of all Club programs and events. This position serves as a liaison between the Club and HEADstrong Foundation management, specifically the Chief Operating Officer (COO).
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Annually, create and execute the strategic plan including budgets, operations manual for club operations with input from the general managers and final approval by the COO of HEADstrong Foundation.
- Coordinate HEADstrong Foundation engagement schedule
- Ensure Clubs are operating according to mission, vision and values and players have quality leadership and training.
- Evaluate program success, and update and/or create new programs as needed.
- Create new opportunities for all players to learn, play, develop and enjoy the game.
- Manage all contracts and coordinate with the COO of HEADstrong Foundation.
- Direct and manage all club general managers and approve operations and schedules.
- Evaluate performance through participant survey, and observation. Recommend continuation for future involvement with the organization.
- Ensure all coaches and employees are properly licensed to coach or support the organization and obtain all required training and compliance education required.
- Facilitate individual and joint GM meetings and discuss training expectations, budgets and tournaments.
- Support and act as a liaison between club, players, parents and coaches to mitigate and/or resolve issues as they arise.
- Update the management at weekly meetings on the status of Club operations. Topics include, but are not limited to, status of training programs, sports agreements, team accomplishments, team/coach issues and parent concerns.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in sports management or related field a plus
- 3-5-years’ experience as Director of a Club program
- Coaching and playing experience at a progressive level including knowledge of the rules and regulations of all youth leagues and rules of the game
- Proven ability to manage a club, team, and players
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Excellent interpersonal skills and willingness to provide a strong presence and high visibility within the Club
- Excellent prioritization and problem-solving skills
- Strong collaboration, organizational and conflict resolution skills
RELATIONSHIPS TO HEADSTRONG FOUNDATION:
- Reports to Chief Operation Officer
- Works closely with Foundation Finance and Marketing Managers.
- Work with the Director of Community Engagement for coordinating any fundraising opportunities that present themselves during the season and post season.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $52,440.00 - $70,000.00 per year
