Female Direct Support Professional

If you have personal or professional experience supporting individuals with or without disabilities, we may have the job for you! We are looking for DSPs who have a passion for helping others by providing basic support duties such as light housekeeping, preparing simple meals, shopping, and accompanying individuals to appointments. At Healing Streams Care Services, the dignity, comfort and wellbeing of the individuals we serve is at the heart of who we are. As a Direct Support Professional, you will play a vital role in providing person-centered support for the individuals to live in their home and community, and to reach their goals.

• Weekday and weekend Mornings/afternoons/Evenings

REQUIREMENTS:

• A valid MN driver's license and reliable transportation with proof of auto insurance
• Successfully pass a background check and driving record check
• Complete Vulnerable Adults Mandated Reporting Training

Job Responsibilities

• Ensure client safety and maintain a safe environment.
• Encourage self-help activities.
• Reports changes in client’s condition to supervisor.
• Perform home management functions such as light housekeeping, laundry, bed making, and cleaning.
• Help clients to plan meals, shop for groceries, Take clients on a walk.
• Transport or accompany clients to scheduled appointments, pharmacy visits or run local errands for clients.
• Help clients schedule appointments.

Direct Support Professional Qualifications / Skills:

• Ability to work in clients’ homes
• Ability to communicate clearly (verbally and written)
• Ability to handle physical aspects of job, including bending, stooping, lifting groceries, pushing, pulling, reaching, and walking for short periods of time

Education, Experience, and Licensing Requirements:

• High school diploma, GED, or equivalent
• 18 years of age or older
• Valid driver’s license
