What are the responsibilities and job description for the Registration Specialist Diagnostics position at Health and Wellness Bath?
- Greets patients arriving for outpatient testing. Enters patient information into medical records and billing systems. Uses HIS/RIS/HCIS insurance verification systems to ensure patients and insurance companies are properly and fully billed for services. Maintains a registration error rate of less than three percent.
- Reviews all pre-registered and walk-in patients' demographics, insurances, billing codes for accuracy prior to entering into ChartMaxx. Accurately reviews medical exam prescription (RX) for medical legal completeness and insurance qualification.
- Utilizes Medicare compliance check software.
- Verifies electronic eligibility of current insurance.
- Utilizes with accuracy the electronic scheduling system to assist referring physicians and patients to appropriate timed exams. Aids in the scheduling of STAT calls.
- Answers telephone calls promptly and courteously. Answers phones to comply with department requirements.
- Coordinates the distribution of department exam reports for the facility by matching report with requisition, mailing out reports to appropriate physicians in a timely manner. Sends reports via auto-fax when requested by physician offices.
- Assists the Technologist, Radiology in patient care when needed including assisting patients with wheelchairs, dressing, etc.
- Retrieves patient exam information and creates required CDs for patient/physician viewing accurately.
- Tracks film/CD distribution to patients and referring physicians accurately.
- Follows system and department policies and procedures with special attention to attendance and punctuality, confidentiality, dress code and display of ID badge, and safety.
- Completes mandatory education and training in order to maintain organization and department specific competencies and requirements. Maintains applicable certification/licensure.
- Must suc cessfully complete the next Basic Life Support (BLS) and AED training programs offered after employment/transfer. Maintains current BLS and AED.

Education:
- High school graduate or the equivalent.
Certifications:
- Must successfully complete the next Basic Life Support (BLS) and AED training programs offered after employment/transfer. Maintains current Basic Life Support (BLS) and AED.
Complexity of Work:
- Strong verbal and written communication skills allowing effective interaction with referring physicians. Strong customer service skills. Computer proficient in Windows applications bar code reader other health information systems. Ability to travel site-to-site as required.
Work Experience:
- Ability to operate a multi-line telephone system.
