"The Special Supplemental Nutrition Program for Women, Infants and Children (WIC) offers nutrition education, breastfeeding support, referrals, and a variety of nutritious foods to low-income pregnant, breastfeeding, or postpartum women, infants, and children up to age five to promote and support good health. The Information Systems Management Section (ISMS) within the Bureau of Supplemental Food Programs is responsible for the management of systems related to WIC, including the WIC Management Information System (NYWIC) and DataMart, account management for more than 2,000 users, site development for WIC Local Agencies, and WIC Food and Formula Management.
This position will be responsible for the coordination of the development, maintenance, and tracking of the NYWIC script library; coordinating, tracking, reporting, and participating in user acceptance testing (UAT) of NYWIC, and multiple associated applications; and developing and maintaining policies and procedures related to the UAT process and other related topics. The incumbent will prepare written and verbal communications for WIC local agency and Department of Health regional office staff demonstrating the ability to translate technical information into plain language. Written materials may include memos, training material, PowerPoint presentations, and WIC Watch articles. Verbal communication may include technical assistance and conducting presentations. The incumbent will also interact with the Division of Nutrition, Office for Information Technology (OIT) staff and contractors and will participate on project work groups to define business requirements and review specification documents.
