Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Includes the following:
Clinical Oversight
- Provide oversight of the medical staff, including physicians, advanced practice nurses, physician associates, contracted specialty providers, and other allied health professionals.
- Serve as a collaborating physician for non-physician care providers as applicable by law.
- Provide consultations to nurse practitioners and other providers on managing patients' acute and long-term medical needs.
- Ensure delivery of patient-centered, high-quality care.
- Develop, implement, and monitor clinical protocols, guidelines, and standing orders.
- Lead quality improvement initiatives with the Director of Quality to enhance patient outcomes and satisfaction.
- Monitor clinical performance metrics and implement corrective actions as needed.
- Ensure compliance with healthcare regulations, accreditation standards, and internal policies.
- Conduct regular reviews and audits of clinical services.
- Collaborate with the Director of Clinical Operations on clinical quality, safety, efficiency of workflows, and productivity.
- Follow and comply with all safety and work rules and regulations.
- Assist with clinically related incident reports.
- Participate, along with Human Resources and the Chief Medical Officer, in the recruitment, hiring, and privileging of staff.
- Provide mentorship, coaching, and professional development opportunities for medical staff.
- Conduct annual performance reviews and provide ongoing feedback to staff, including constructive feedback and support to meet professional goals.
- Participate in the development of the medical activities budget with the Chief Medical Officer, including staffing, support plans, and equipment needs projections.
- Optimize resource use to provide cost-effective care.
- Assist with the optimization of the EMR to improve efficiency and productivity.
- Identify and implement cost-saving measures.
- Provide input on grant-related clinical activities.
- Facilitate effective communication between medical staff and administration.
- Engage with patients, families, and the community to gather feedback and improve services.
- Arrange and conduct regular meetings of medical clinic providers.
- Collaborate with other OCHC service lines such as behavioral health, dental, and community services.
- Perform the essential duties and responsibilities of a primary care physician consistent with Outreach Primary Care Physician standards.
- Maintain clinical and technical competency and stay current with industry changes and technology.
- Medical Doctorate (MD) or Doctorate of Osteopathy (DO) and Board certification required.
- Preferred specializations: Family Medicine, Med-Peds, or Internal Medicine.
- Minimum of 4 years of clinical practice experience required.
- Experience in community health/public health preferred.
- 2-3 years of clinical leadership experience strongly preferred.
- Requires a current medical license in the state of Wisconsin.
