Job Summary
(PRN Only position) To provide physics calculation and support for Radiation Oncology and other Radiology services, and for the radiation safety of the hospital facilities and personnel.
Accountabilities
Job has direct and/or indirect supervision of employees that may include final budget authority, hire/termination/disciplinary authority, performance appraisal responsibility. Job will be considered a member of the management staff with direct reports.
Minimum Education
Master's degree in physics or medical physics from a recognized college/university
Minimum Experience
3-5 years
Licensure, Registry or Certification Required
ABR or ABMP certification in radiation oncology physics
Other Required Skills
Dosimetry of high energy photon and electron beams; must have skills necessary to treat patients of all ages

Job Summary

Accountabilities
- Calibrates/evaluates all linear accelerators, conventional and CT simulators; inspects radiological checks of therapists and service personnel.
- Prepares and reviews linac data books used by radiation oncology staff.
- Prepares and reviews beam data used in planning computer; reviews/performs patient computer treatment plans
- Reviews patient charts, including computer treatment planning
- Special dosimetry on patients; investigation on unusual treatment methods; research.
- Administrative responsibilities, including supervision of dosimetrists.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
