We are looking for a passionate athletic trainer to join our team as Injury Prevention Coordinator at our client site in Pensacola, FL. This unique opportunity positions a certified athletic trainer in a corporate setting, supporting employees in physically demanding work environments. In this role, you will have the opportunity to refine skills in strategic planning, relationship building and ergonomics while delivering a full service program designed to reduce employee injury and/or discomfort.
**This position offers autonomy in creating an appropriate structured, daytime, Mon – Fri, 40-hour schedule. Travel to worksites throughout the Florida Gulf service territory is required (up to 75%) with appropriate travel reimbursement.
Your impact:
- Conducts employee injury prevention programs, education and training.
- Leads the development and implementation of interventions/programs focused on in-the-field environment to meet client objectives.
- Assists employee healthcare teams with job function assessment, incident investigation and care management.
- Collect and evaluate program data to support ROI process, manages and reports data for their assigned plant.
- Develop, promote and market wellness and general education programs.
- Other duties as needed/assigned.
What you bring with you:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Exercise Physiology, Kinesiology, Athletic Training, Exercise Science or related field.
- Experience and expertise in ergonomics, injury prevention and management of work related injuries/illnesses.
- Must be BOC certified and possess Florida state athletic training licensure.
- Current CPR/AED and First Aid certifications from American Heart Association, American Red Cross or American Safety & Health Institute.
- Ability to effectively organize and prioritize work demands.
- Demonstrated skill in program development, implementation, marketing and promotion.
- Strong interpersonal communication and customer service skills.
- Ability to work without direct supervision.
- Travel up to 75% to other client locations throughout the Florida panhandle.
- 2 - 3 years’ experience in corporate based health and fitness a plus.
- Personal Training certification from ACE, AFAA, ACSM, NASM or NSCA a plus.
- Understanding of Biomechanics, Occupational Safety and experience working in a clinical environment (occupational therapy, physical therapy, cardiac rehab, nursing) a plus.
