Health Hero is seeking a Senior Level Accountant to join our team.
The Senior Level Accountant will be responsible for the day-to-day financial operations of our company. They will monitor the company’s financial status, review quarterly and annual budgets and manage accounting transactions.
Roles & Responsibilities:
- Responsible for bookkeeping, accounting functions and programs
- Preparing financial analysis and reports
- Preparing revenue projections and forecasting expenditure
- Assisting with preparing and monitoring budgets
- Maintaining and reconciling balance sheet and general ledger accounts
- Maintain internal controls including that of inventory, procurement, payroll, receipts, disbursements & other processes
- Perform month-end and year-end process
- Ensure all payments are completed on time (including accounts payable and bank deposits)
- Oversee cash flow reporting, forecasting & development & cash management solutions
- Coordinate and oversee monthly financial accounting closings.
- Perform internal audits and assist with external audits
- Oversee billing and preparation of tax documentation.
- Responsible for preparing, reviewing, and submitting clients' administrative billing and ensuring the collection on those billings.
- Report on financial status on a regular basis and create ad-hoc reports when needed
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date filing systems
- Provide information to management by assembling and summarizing data, preparing reports and presentations of findings, analyses, and recommendations.
- Oversee all program & grants accounting (including of government contracts) to ensure that expenditures are consistently aligned with grant & program budgets throughout the grant/contract period.
Skills & Requirements:
- Bachelor’s/Master’s degree in accounting, finance, or related field.
- Be able to effectively multi-task, meet deadlines and coordinate activities across multi- departmental operations.
- Detail oriented and highly organized
- Exceptional work ethic
- Skilled in time management and the ability to prioritize tasks
- Critical thinking, excellent customer service and good interpersonal communication skills
- Proficiency in Excel, Word, QuickBooks and multiple accounting/payroll software packages
- Maintain effective working relationships with company’s internal and external customers
- Two years of professional experience in accounting
- 6 months of supervisory experience
- Previous experience working in a Healthcare Accounting setting
Requirements and Must Have Criteria:
- Leadership and Operational Endurance: Skilled senior leader with 3-5 years in a leadership role with proven team results. Ability to create an environment of trust and productivity. The person should have strong customer service skills and the ability to interact with clients.
- Experienced in Healthcare/Health Plan/TPA Domain: Mission-oriented and energetic, the person must have a demonstrated track record of success in the US healthcare sector with a passion for finances. Success for this role must have at least 5-10 years of experience with demonstrated success as a member in finance with significant health care, provider, health plan, credentialing, and billing. The ideal candidate should have experience in a health plan finance department and/or within supplemental benefits.
- Interpersonal, Communication, and Relational Building Skills: Ability to relate to and effectively work with a diverse group of individuals, groups, and people collaboratively and diplomatically. Proven ability to engage internal and external constituencies. The person must be solutions oriented with excellent oral and written communications. The person must also exude high energy with a positive manner and a can-do attitude and excellent judgment.
