Overview

Health Management Associates Information Services (HMAIS) is a subscription-based service which provides an unparalleled breadth and depth of data and daily newsletters on publicly sponsored healthcare programs like Medicaid and Medicare, including:

  • State-by-state overviews
  • The latest managed care enrollment, market share, and financial performance, and utilization data
  • Instant online access to ready-to-use charts, graphs, and Excel files
  • A comprehensive public documents database, including documents such as state Medicaid RFPs, health plan responses, scoring sheets, and model contracts

Job Summary

Under general supervision, the Content Development Specialist develops products and content for HMAIS subscribers/clients and internal HMA customers, such as summary and analysis of state documents, summary and analysis of federal level regulatory and legislative developments, and issue monitoring. Responsibilities include developing and disseminating state and federal policy products to internal and external HMA customers; working with the HMAIS team to identify state and federal level news content for client products; monitoring for state and local Medicaid and other healthcare and health-related information and data including state RFPs and RFIs; state Medicaid demonstrations and new initiatives; and supporting development and implementation of informative content that aligns with the vision for HMAIS.

 

Responsibilities

Work Performed and Job Requirements

  • Develop content strategy for healthcare publications and products, considering the target audience, industry trends, and HMA priorities.
  • Research and gather relevant healthcare industry information and data on a variety of health care topics that support subscribers’ and colleagues’ work to conduct competitive analysis and achieve business growth opportunities.
  • Create content for calendars monitoring key issue trends and federal policy developments.
  • Collaborate with HMAIS team and other subject matter experts to generate high-quality content that is aligned with organizational goals, target audience needs, and industry trends.
  • Lead the editorial process for specific healthcare publications, ensuring all content meets editorial standards and deadlines, and coordinate with cross-functional teams to facilitate smooth workflow and collaboration.
  • Mentor and provide guidance to junior team members and colleagues, offering feedback and support to enhance their content development skills and ensure consistent quality across all projects.
  • Develop distribution strategies to maximize the reach and impact of content.
  • Monitor and analyze the performance of released content to identify successes and areas for improvement.
  • Review assigned content areas to ensure accuracy, relevance, quality, and alignment with HMAIS goals.
  • Stay updated on industry trends, best practices, and emerging technologies related to content development and marketing.
  • All other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Education/Training

Minimum of a bachelor’s degree in health policy or related discipline is required.  Health care experience preferred.

 

Experience

Minimum of 3 years of experience in content management and development, preferably in health policy or related discipline.

  • Enthusiasm for learning new skills

Computer, printer, copier, scanner, fax, telephone, web conferencing.

 

Working Conditions

Work is sedentary in nature and performed in an office environment. Work may be stressful at times. 

 

Physical/Mental Demands

Work requires hand dexterity for office machine operation; stooping, climbing, and bending to files and supplies; mobility to complete errands; stand/sit for up to eight hours each day; ability to communicate clearly when using the telephone; requires sitting; standing, walking, reaching, bending, lifting, and twisting at times; moderate levels of stress.
