Health Services Consultants, supporting adults with developmental disabilities for over 30 years, is looking for a Nurse with a powerful calling to help others using a team approach!
This full-time opportunity offers a self-directed, flexible schedule, serving small groups of developmentally/intellectually disabled adults (4-8 per home) in neighborhood residential locations in the Decatur, IL and Monticello, IL areas.
The RN will evaluate and provide for the medical, health, and safety needs of the individuals in our Community Integrated Living Arrangement (CILA) residences. You'll visit neighborhood homes during the weekday. On-call is by phone only (no on-site response).
What You'll Do:
- Enjoy great relationships with long-term residents.
- Monitor and review client medication plans; medication records, orders, and MARs.
- Conduct staff medication training and skills observation.
- Document client medical information to provide progress notes.
- Work with the group home staff to ensure MD appointments and treatment goals are met.
- Administer duties in accordance with Title 59 Chapter 1, Part 116
- Respond to telephone calls, emails and messages and give appropriate nursing/medical directions as needed. Will rotate on-call (phone only, no on-site on-call response) with other nurses.
- Includes travel within the weekday work schedule to CILAs (within a 2-hour driving radius).
Requirements:
- Current Illinois RN license
- CPR certified/ability to be CPR certified
- Valid Illinois driver's license and reliable transportation
- 1 year experience with developmental disabilities preferred
- Have or obtain DHS Nurse Trainer certificate within 60 days of employment
