How YOU will make a Difference:

The primary purpose of this role is to ensure the creation of quality, comprehensive, and compliant Plan Documents and Summary Plan Descriptions (SPDs) as well as amendments, and SBC’s (as needed) for our self-funded group health plan clients. This position will be responsible for understanding client intent and working with Account Teams to clarify issues or concerns. This position is responsible for troubleshooting issues and providing language guidance, clarification, and recommendations to other team members within our organization as well as with our clients and brokers.

What YOU will do:   

  • Perform document proofing and quality audit
  • Draft Plan Documents and Summary Plan Descriptions (SPD) 
  • Draft SPD amendments 
  • Manage to rigid internal document production SLAs
  • Participate in new client benefit reviews and implementation calls
  • Work with third-party SPD and SBC vendors to ensure quality, timely delivery of documents as needed 
  • Identify and communicate concerns related to regulations impacting plan language and benefit design
  • Manage and implement annual SPD maintenance release for timely and accurate implementation
  • Work with other operational teams to identify need and assist is drafting new master SPD language

 Knowledge, Experience, and Key Attributes needed for Success: 

  • Associate’s/Bachelor’s degree preferred
  • 3-5 years of experience working at a TPA, health insurance company, or brokerage firm  
  • 3-5 years of experience with Plan Documents
  • Strong knowledge of various regulations pertaining to group health plans (ACA, COBRA, ERISA, HIPAA)
  • Detail oriented with the ability to demonstrate a high level of accuracy while maintaining tight timelines is required
  • Excellent MS Word skills is required
  • Excellent ability to communicate verbally and in writing with internal and external customers is required
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to multi-task in complex environment is required
  • Superior knowledge and use of English grammar, spelling, and punctuation, as well as content organization, layout, and visual appeal is required
  • Strong critical thinking and analysis skills is required

Compensation:

The base salary range for this position in the greater Seattle area is $83,000- $103,000 and varies dependent on geography, skills, experience, education, and other job or market-related factors. Performance-based incentive bonus(es) is available.
