Minnesota Oral and Facial Surgery is seeking a full-time Registered Nurse at our Sartell clinic.
Minnesota Oral and Facial Surgery is a surgical practice that is driven by delivering the highest quality and compassionate surgical care to its patients. Our practice is led by Deepak Kademani, a nationally recognized oral and maxillofacial surgeon and offers a broad scope of oral and maxillofacial surgery and head and neck surgery including complex implant based oral reconstruction.

Qualifications:
Graduate of accredited Registered Nursing program
Active state license, RN
Surgery experience required
Dental experience strongly preferred
CPR Certification
Proven skill in nursing practice scope and documentation
A working knowledge of patient care, medical terminology, appropriate clinical pharmacology for licensed dental assistants, and coding procedures
Excellent interpersonal, organizational, and customer service skills
Strong computer skills and familiarity with electronic medical health records
Ability to work independently and effectively balance multiple tasks
Typical Working Conditions:
Work is performed in a clinic setting
Typical Duties and Responsibilities:
Prepare patients for surgical procedures including:
Obtaining complete medical history
Preoperative preparation of patient and surgical instruments
Initiation of IV and sedation medications
Continuous monitoring throughout the surgical procedure
Directly assist surgeons during surgical procedures including:
Suctioning
Patient monitoring
Airway management during sedation as directed by the surgeon
Monitor and assess patients after surgery and sedation
Provide discharge instructions to patients and caregivers in the post anesthesia care area
Assist in sterilization and preparation of surgical instruments and equipment prior to surgical cases
Obtain health histories from outside facilities and compile patient health summaries for surgeons to review preoperatively.
Assisting patients in scheduling labs, x-rays, and prescriptions in conjunction with oral surgery appointments.
Communicate preoperative surgeon’s orders to patients, families, primary care providers and long-term care facilities for patients with complex medical histories.
Assist surgeon in postoperative follow up appointments
Maintain drug, instrument, and equipment inventory
Special assignments of tasks, maintenance of equipment, Radiation records, OSHA records, SDS, etc.
Demonstrate knowledge of Emergency Protocols
Maintain privacy of patients and assure patient confidentiality at all times
