How you can make a difference
The Director of IT Engineering will lead our organization's infrastructure technology initiatives with a primary focus on cloud infrastructure, servers, storage, automation, and networking. As the Director of IT Engineering, you will be responsible for overseeing the development, implementation, and maintenance of our technology infrastructure, ensuring its alignment with business objectives and industry best practices. Your expertise in cloud technologies, automation, and networking will be crucial in driving efficiency, scalability, and innovation within our IT systems.
What you'll be doing
Leadership and Strategy
- Develop and communicate a clear vision and strategy for the IT engineering team, aligning it with the organization's overall goals and objectives.
- Provide strong leadership, mentorship, and guidance to a team of IT engineers, fostering a culture of collaboration, innovation, and excellence.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams and senior management to define technology roadmaps, set priorities, and drive the implementation of IT initiatives.
Cloud Infrastructure
- Architect, design, and oversee the implementation and management of a scalable, secure, and highly available cloud infrastructure.
- Evaluate and select appropriate cloud service providers, negotiate contracts, and manage vendor relationships.
- Implement cloud governance practices, ensuring compliance with security, privacy, and regulatory requirements.
- Develop disaster recovery and business continuity plans for cloud-based systems.
Automation
- Champion the automation of IT processes and workflows to streamline operations, increase efficiency, and reduce manual effort.
- Evaluate, implement, and maintain automation tools, frameworks, and technologies.
- Identify opportunities for process optimization, cost reduction, and service improvement through automation initiatives.
Networking
- Design and manage the organization's network infrastructure, ensuring high availability, scalability, and security.
- Collaborate with network engineers to implement and maintain network hardware, software, and protocols.
- Monitor network performance, identify bottlenecks, and implement measures to enhance network reliability and performance.
- Stay updated with industry trends and emerging technologies related to networking and recommend relevant improvements to the organization's infrastructure.
What you will need to be successful
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or equivalent experience.
- Extensive experience (8 years) in IT engineering roles, with a focus on networking, cloud infrastructure, automation, and user experience.
- Strong knowledge and experience with cloud platforms preferring Microsoft Azure.
- Demonstrated expertise in automation tools and frameworks, such as Ansible, PowerShell, Puppet, or Terraform.
- In-depth understanding of networking concepts, protocols, and security practices.
- Proven leadership experience, with the ability to lead and inspire cross-functional teams.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to effectively present complex technical information to non-technical stakeholders.
- Strong problem-solving skills, with the ability to analyze complex issues, propose solutions, and drive their implementation.
- Knowledge of best practices in the areas of systems design, performance, security, scalability, and maintainability is also required.
- Expertise with Infrastructure as Code, PaaS tools, including Terraform.

The compensation range describes the typical minimum or maximum base pay range for this position. The actual compensation offer is determined based on job-related knowledge, education, skills, experience, and work location. This position will be eligible for performance-based incentives and restricted stock units as part of the total compensation package, in addition to a full range in addition to a full range of benefits including:
