How you can make a difference
HealthEquity is looking for a passionate Senior Platform Engineer to join our team. Our cloud platform engineering team drives scalable architecture, minimizes risks, and provides visibility across environments, systems, and applications while using lean principles at scale in a fast-paced environment. In collaboration with cross-functional scrum teams, you'll contribute to the design, documentation, and delivery of systems, looking for opportunities to automate away waste. You'll work with scrum teams to troubleshoot complicated systems and applications and participate in on-call rotation.
What you'll be doing
Responsible for designing and implementing new technology requirements for HealthEquity's cloud platforms
Responsible for coordinating with application and platform architects on new cloud technology initiatives
Design and implement Enterprise Cloud Patterns & Practices
Design and implement automated code deployment solutions
Design and implement automated environment provisioning and container solutions
Design and implement application monitoring and alerting solutions to get issues to the right people at the right time
Remediate issues that impact the health and performance of our production systems and infrastructure
Diagnose and isolate issues at all layers of the stack, whether it be code or infrastructure, during development and in production
Manage build definitions and hardware in support of our Continuous Delivery policies and procedures
What you will need to be successful
Bachelors or Masters degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or equivalent experience
15 years experience in a Platform, SRE, DevOps, or IT Operations positions
8 years of hands-on public cloud infrastructure experience (Azure)
Expert level knowledge of public cloud IaaS, PaaS, and SaaS platforms
Expert level knowledge of containerization design concepts and tooling
Expert knowledge of container platform provisioning, management, and operations (Docker/Kubernetes/OpenShift), especially with Azure Kubernetes Services (AKS)
Expert, hands-on level knowledge and experience of development, automation, monitoring tools, and practices including but not limited to Terraform, Terraform Cloud, Python, Go, Helm, Flux, Grafana, Dynatrace, PowerShell, GitHub Actions, Azure DevOps, Agile/SAFe processes, Puppet/Chef/Ansible
Direct experience with full-stack monitoring concepts and tooling from code to system resources
Solution design and deployment experience of resilient, HA, Highly Scalable & DR architecture
Expert architecture knowledge, experience with microservices architecture
Expert level knowledge of security (IAM, RBAC, certificate/secrets management, etc.) platforms
Ability to deliver long-term, repeatable IaC solutions that incorporate directly into an automated process
In-depth understanding of IaC platforming, including policy compliance, naming, tagging, and life-cycle management
Experience leading root cause analysis of incidents using incident post-mortems
Experience monitoring container-based microservices & public cloud platform services
Knowledge of Agile Methodology and being able to work within those principals
Willing and able to provide escalated on-call support and incident remediation
Strong commitment to standardization
Strong experience documenting standards and best practices

The compensation range describes the typical minimum or maximum base pay range for this position. The actual compensation offer is determined based on job-related knowledge, education, skills, experience, and work location. This position will be eligible for performance-based incentives and restricted stock units as part of the total compensation package, in addition to a full range in addition to a full range of benefits including:
