Job Overview
The San Mateo County program is a 3-4 month residential program serving up to 12 men, 15 women, and 5 women with as many as 6 children.
All clients are residents of San Mateo County. Clients receive substance abuse counseling and psycho-educational groups, life skills as well as weekly individual therapy.
Transportation Care Coordinators are responsible for the transportation needs of clients following all applicable federal and state driving laws.
The Coordinators ensure that clients are safely transported to and from various locations related to their treatment needs, as well as maintaining all applicable transportation documentation.
The Coordinators also support house functions such as transporting supplies to and from facilities, participate in food bank services, cleaning and maintaining vehicle records.
Key Responsibilities
- Safely transports clients in an agency-provided vehicle following all applicable federal and state driving laws.
- Maintains appropriate boundaries with clients at all times.
- Participates in Food Bank services, loading and unloading food and supplies.
- Ensures routine vehicle maintenance including inspections, interior and exterior cleaning, and pumping gas. Maintains all vehicle records.
- Provides on-time arrival for all client's medical, mental health, court, and dental appointments - reports any problems to the appropriate supervisors.
- And other duties as assigned.
Education and Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- High School Diploma.
- Valid California Driver's License.
- Ability to lift 30 pounds.
- Physical exam with negative TB screening.
- First Aid & CPR certification.
- Live Scan clearance.
- Must not be on active parole or probation.
- Ability to obtain and maintain background clearance with successful discharge from probation or parole, and absence of drug / alcohol-related arrests or convictions for at least 3 years.
- Culturally inclusive and able to work with a diverse population.
- Professionalism, punctuality, flexibility, and reliability are imperative.
