How you will help
The Director of Data Warehouse Engineering is responsible for managing HealthVerity’s data warehouse engineering and operations to support the largest, most diverse healthcare data ecosystem in the U.S. This critical role demands a proven data and technology leader with innovative experience in data warehousing at very large scales. You will concentrate HealthVerity’s efforts to enable the seamless integration of even more data, ensuring that the company has a high-reliability, highly agile process in place. Additionally, you will work to build a system that supports the development of new data platforms and products at scale.
What you will do
• Utilize a customer focused, product mindset to build data and software solutions that enable new product and service innovations
• Design, develop, and maintain scalable data architecture and processing pipelines for multiple types of healthcare data across multiple sources and clients including the onboarding of new data sources, data operations and data quality and governance
• Grow and develop leaders across the Data as a Service technology organization
• Streamline the entire data ecosystem from end-to-end to ensure the most efficient, high-quality, standardized, privacy-compliant data processes possible
• Hire, retain and develop an innovative, fast-paced and focused team of data management, data engineering, and software engineering professionals
• Collaborate with data team stakeholders to understand and translate company strategies into near and long-term technology initiatives and roadmap
• Advise and recommend advancements in data technology, infrastructure, and information security
• Drive continuous improvement, best practices and efficient operating metrics
• Provide coaching and mentorship to develop critical thinking, quantitative, and technical skills across teams
Required skills and experience
• Extensive experience and a proven track record in leadership of high-complexity data management and data warehousing development and operations
• Hire, retain and develop an innovative, fast-paced and focused team of data management, data engineering, and software engineering professionals
• Expertise in building and managing large volume data processing platforms
• Expertise in cloud based and SaaS data warehouse platform tooling
• Experience using modern technologies, including AWS and Databricks and developing ETL/ELT pipelines
• Expertise working with large and diverse data sets, for example, at petabyte scale
• Outstanding verbal and written communication and presentation skills
• Deep understanding of cloud-native and commercially available data tools (5 years of experience)
• Experience designing and implementing solutions that utilize distributed computing for high performance manipulation of data at scale
• Deep knowledge of designing, developing, deploying, and managing modern, reliable, and highly scalable data pipelines and automated ingestion and normalization processes
• Experience managing end-to-end data pipelines, including the onboarding of new data sources, ongoing data operations, data quality and data delivery
• Ability to work in a fast-paced startup environment navigating and servicing day-to-day customer needs in close partnership with software engineering, product, and commercial
Base salary for the role is commensurate with experience and can range between $130,000 - 200,000 annual bonus opportunity.
