Healthy Pet is currently seeking an experienced Demand Planner to join our growing team! The GL Accountant is responsible for performing a variety of duties in support of the Accounting Department.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Prepare and post monthly, quarterly and yearly accruals and journal entries.
- Reconciles and maintains balance sheet accounts.
- Primary support for corporate credit card users and maintains the credit card expense management system.
- Assigns project codes to track capital expenditures, leases and other expenditures as needed. Prepares related reporting. Maintains the project code list.
- Maintains the fixed asset system, controls and related files.
- Participates in the Accounting Department month-end and year-end closing process and annual audit.
- Enters in daily production order data. Works with the plant supervisors to ensure production records, labor data and inventory consumption are entered into the system in an accurate and timely manner.
- Compares actual labor and production order data to the bill of material to identify variances. Works with Cost Accountant to resolve the issue and update the Bill of Material as needed.
- Works with the warehouse team to conduct monthly, annual and random physical inventory counts. Reconciles physical count results to the system balance. Researches discrepancies and works with others to resolve issues as needed.
- Primary coordinator of the annual year-end physical inventory count.
- Works with the quality department to place inventory on hold for inspection.
- Assists is maintaining the company’s internal controls over financial reporting.
- Organizes, updates and maintains files and other documents pertaining to inventories,COGs and production records.
- Documents and/or updates tasks performed in order to meet essential duties and responsibilities of this position. Maintains Standard Operating Procedures.
- Performs other duties as needed or assigned.
QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS
- Bachelor’s degree preferred.
- Two years of progressively responsible related experience in a manufacturing and office environment preferred.
- Detail oriented, ability to prioritize work and maintain a high degree of accuracy.
- Proficient in Excel
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Experienced with ERP preferred.
