Job Scope: The Maintenance Supervisor will be responsible for overseeing the maintenance operations within our unionized food manufacturing plant. This role requires a strong leader with excellent technical skills, the ability to manage a team, and a commitment to ensuring equipment reliability, safety, and efficiency.
Shift: Supervisor will follow assigned Maintenance Team on 12 hour schedule.
Core Responsibilities:
- Supervise and lead a team of maintenance technicians in performing preventive and corrective maintenance tasks on production equipment and machinery.
- Collaborate with production and other departments to ensure minimal downtime and efficient production processes.
- Plan and schedule maintenance activities, ensuring compliance with safety regulations and union agreements.
- Conduct regular inspections to identify and address potential issues before they escalate.
- Train and develop maintenance staff, promoting a culture of continuous improvement and skill enhancement.
- Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, equipment history, and spare parts inventory.
- Work closely with union representatives to address labor-related concerns and ensure compliance with collective bargaining agreements.
- Implement and enforce safety protocols and procedures to create a secure work environment.
- Collaborate with the procurement department to source and purchase necessary spare parts and supplies.
- 2 or more years of Maintenance Supervisor experience required.
- 5 or more years of Maintenance experience in a manufacturing environment, ideally food, beverage, or CPG industry.
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or related field is ideal.
- Experience working with vendors-setting up and managing in plant.
- Depth of knowledge in electrical and mechanical
- Must have CMMS experience.
- Union experience is beneficial, but not required.
- SAP experience or other large ERP is nice to have.
- Project management skillset is a benefit.
- Strong personal safety experience.
- Strong technical skills and knowledge of industrial equipment and machinery.
- Excellent leadership and team management abilities.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to prioritize tasks and work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
