The Payroll and Benefits Specialist is the primary administrator for the payroll and benefits processes. This position administers employee health and welfare plans and acts as liaison between employees and insurance providers. This position resolves benefits-related problems and ensures effective use of plans and positive employee relations. The position ensures that plans are administered in accordance with federal and state regulations and that plan provisions are followed. This role provides administrative support to the human resource function, including recordkeeping, file maintenance and HRIS entry.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in human resources, business administration, or a combination of education and experience in a related field.
  • 3-5 years human resources experience with primary responsibility for payroll and benefits administration and processing.
  • SHRM-CP (certified professional), Certified Payroll Professional, American Payroll Association, and/or Certified Employee Benefits Specialist Certification preferred.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Outlook). Experience with HRMS/HRIS systems.

Schedule:

  • 8 hour shift
  • Monday to Friday

Ability to commute/relocate:

  • Hutchinson, MN 55350: Reliably commute or planning to relocate before starting work (Preferred)

Education:

  • Bachelor's (Preferred)

Experience:

  • Human resources: 3 years (Preferred)
  • Payroll: 3 years (Preferred)
  • Benefits administration: 3 years (Preferred)
