What are the responsibilities and job description for the Grain Truck Driver (heavy) position at HEARTLAND CO-OP?
Drives truck with a capacity of more than 3 tons, to transport materials to and from specified destinations, by performing the following duties.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Drives truck to destination.
- Maintains truck log, according to state and federal regulations.
- Maintains telephone or radio contact with supervisor to receive delivery instructions.
- Loads and unloads truck. Cleans compartment after unloading as necessary to avoid contamination.
- Inspects truck equipment and supplies such as tires, lights, brakes, gas, oil, and water.
- Performs routine maintenance on the vehicle, including but not limited to, daily pre and post-trip inspections.
- Assist location and Feed Mill Operator with operational duties, as time allows, ensuring an efficient production schedule.
- Ensure trucks promote a positive image of Heartland Co-op by keeping the interiors and exteriors clean as conditions allow.
- Maintain a valid Class A Commercial Drivers License with proper endorsements and commercial insurability at all times.
- A valid DOT physical is also required.
- Other duties may be assigned.
