Job Posting for Apprenticeships Positions at Heartland Community College
Description
We seek applicants for two positions to advance and support the College's apprenticeships program. Heartland’s registered apprenticeship programs are unique, flexible instruction programs combining job related courses with structured on-the-job learning experiences. Both the Coordinator and Associate Director will offer support and foster relationships with registered apprentices and organize outreach initiatives for promotion and recruitment of students in coordination with various College departments. Anticipated starting salary is at or above: $37,188 for the Coordinator and $49,691 for the Associate Director.
General responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Coordinator
Serve as a resource to apprentices by performing and documenting regular check-ins to assess challenges and identify on-campus and/or broader services to support their success
Coordinate with campus departments and community-based organizations to secure delivery of wraparound supports to foster apprentices’ success
Communicate with internal stakeholders to track apprentices’ progress toward meeting benchmarks and program standards
Compile and complete required documentation for recordkeeping and state, federal, and/or grant reporting, ensuring accurate data collection and entry of apprentice information
Coordinate logistics (room scheduling, set-up, technology needs) for on-site meetings, conferences, and events
Associate Director
Implement strategic goals and direction set by the department to ensure apprenticeship program sustainability and growth
Oversee prospective apprentice recruitment, screening and intake, progress monitoring, and employer placement processes
Serve as the liaison and foster professional relationships between employer partners, potential partners, and College stakeholders to drive economic growth of the region
In coordination with Grants staff, perform grant administration functions, including grant writing, budgeting, reporting, and accounting
Attend professional development and apprenticeship trainings to position the Heartland Apprenticeship Program at the forefront of such programming statewide and nationally

Requirements
Coordinator
Associate degree or appropriate education/experience in education, workforce development, training, or related field
Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills
Ability to work effectively and inclusively within a diverse campus community
Strong organizational and time management skills; attention to detail; and ability to problem-solve, work independently, and function professionally under pressure
Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications
Associate Director
Bachelor’s degree or appropriate experience and education
Work experience in education, workforce development, training, or related field
Ability to work effectively and inclusively within a diverse campus community
Functional skills with Microsoft Office applications including Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint
Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, ability to work independently and function professionally under pressure
Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonally communication skills and ability to collaborate effectively with internal and external stakeholders
Ability to efficiently manage multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously
Desired Qualifications

Professional experience in an academic setting
Career development experience
Understanding of and support for the community college mission
Associate Director
Familiarity with apprenticeship programs (trade-based or Department of Labor registered)
Familiarity with data collection, management, and reporting, including interactive database software
Experience with PeopleSoft systems
