Strategic Sourcing Business Analyst

Heartland Dental LLC (“Heartland Dental”), the nation’s largest dental support organization (“DSO”) providing non-clinical, administrative support services to more than 2,800 dentists practicing in 1,700 locations across 38 states are seeking a Strategic Sourcing Business Analyst to join our procurement team.

Reporting to the Senior Director of Strategic Sourcing, the Business Analyst will contribute to the company’s success by partnering with key stakeholders by providing relevant data and analysis to optimize cost savings opportunities, track expenditure trends, and influence department decision-making and performance.

The Analyst supports Heartland Dental's Clinical Supplies & Equipment categories, collaborating within a cross-functional team that includes Operations and Clinical leadership. The Analyst contributes to the effective management of Supplies/Equipment formularies, influencing purchasing behaviors, and optimizing cost and quality for supported offices.

Below is an overview of the duties and responsibilities you would take on in this role:

• Work cross-functionally with business owners to improve and standardize reporting solutions.
• Conduct thorough analyses on supplies, labs, and equipment data to identify trends, cost drivers and potential areas of improvement that will inform business decision-making.
• Build and maintain relationships with internal teams, suppliers, manufacturers, and professional organizations to identify, benchmark, and implement Supplier Management and procurement best practices.
• Evaluate supplier performance, create visibility, and manage Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) to manage supplier performance, and drive cost and operational improvement activities.
• Recommend and implement process improvements to enhance the effectiveness of the strategic sourcing function.
• Develop strategic recommendations based on data analysis and business insights to support key decision-making processes.
• Prepare reports to senior management, highlighting key insights, performance metrics, and recommended actions.

Minimum Requirements:

• One year of related experience or bachelor’s degree in supply chain, Computer Science, Information Technology, Finance, Business, or a related field.
• Strong communication skills – the ability to translate business to business requirements while working in a collaborative team setting.
• Familiarity with structuring and analyzing large sets of data, preferably in SQL.
• Strong technical skills with Microsoft Excel (Macros, IF statements, and PivotTables, e.g.) and PowerPoint.
• Ability to assimilate data, draw conclusions, and make recommendations.
• Ability to communicate complex analytical findings and insights to non-technical stakeholders in a clear and understandable manner.
• Strong organizational skills, accuracy, and attention to detail
• World-class verbal and written communication skills
• Ability to work across functions and be comfortable with Senior-level engagement.
• Ability to work well under pressure and prioritize multiple tasks.

Desirable Qualifications:

• Willingness to relocate to St. Louis, MO, Effingham, IL or Indianapolis, IL.
• Ability to work in the office three days a week.
