About Aidmore Animal Clinic Aidmore Animal Clinic is proud to serve the Augusta GA area for everything pet related. Our veterinary clinic and animal hospital is locally owned and run by Dr. Lynn Simons and Katrea Howard, who are licensed, experienced Augusta veterinarians.
Aidmore Animal Clinic was established in 1957. The original hospital was located on Wrightsboro Rd. until moving to our present location in 1986. Dr. Lynn Simons and Katrea Howard were associate veterinarians practicing at Aidmore Animal Clinic for several years. They purchased the animal hospital in 1998.

Position Purpose Reporting into the Regional Director of Operations, the Practice Manager manages all essential business functions in the veterinary practice and supports the practice teams. The Practice Manger works in partnership with the Managing Doctor (MDVM) to ensure successful practice operations, high client satisfaction, and to manage practice teams. In collaboration with the MDVM, the Practice Manager is responsible for ensuring profitability of the practice, growing the business and all the while protecting the practice legacy. The Practice Manager must be a strong people manager, possess great business acumen, and enjoy leading and developing a team. Additionally, they should ensure the practice has engaged and productive teams that are driving high-quality patient care and exceptional client service.

Client Centric: Ensuring all practice activities result in the highest level of client satisfaction. Keeping the client, patient, and team members at the center of everything you do. Managers must be able to efficiently gather and analyze relevant data on different issues, evaluate results, and choose decisively between alternatives. They must be able to effectively implement their decisions, initiate action, and measure results. Critical & Strategic Thinking: Strategic thinking and planning are an essential part of financial forecasting, marketing plans, and long-term plans for growth of the practice. Managers must have the ability to identify questions, problems, and arguments relevant to these issues and to use logic and critical reasoning to identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions or approaches to problems. Planning & Priority: The manager has many different job responsibilities, several of which relate to compliance with professional and legal standards and regulations. As a result, managers must be able to organize their work efficiently, set priorities, and establish plans or timetables for achieving goals. They must effectively manage time and workload to meet deadlines. Continuous Learning: Best practices in management and legal issues are constantly evolving and managers must keep up with these changes. They must demonstrate curiosity for learning and actively seek out new information, technologies, and methods. They must also seek feedback and other opportunities for self-development. Leadership: Leadership is essential for the human resource tasks of a manager. Effective managers influence and motivate others in the workplace. They take initiative in organizing and coordinating the activities of group members and are successful at mobilizing group effort toward a common goal. Additionally, they are responsible for creating and maintaining a positive culture in the practice.
Essential Responsibilities
Drive revenue for practice growth
Manage expenses including but not limited to drugs and supplies, labor and facility costs
Assist in developing and maintaining salary schedules and job evaluations for all employees
Provide input on an annual budget
Triage in-house human resource issues and collaborate with the Heartland Human Resources team
Establish and execute performance evaluations
Establish internal operating procedures for the administration of the practice to ensure accuracy and completeness of veterinary records and reports, format, and compliance with the accepted hospital practices.
Partner with the MDVM to ensure all team members are adhering to practice operating procedures that ensure the accuracy and completeness of veterinary records and reports and ensure formats are in compliance with accepted practice guidelines.
Ensure compliance with regulatory agencies and laws. This includes but is not limited to OSHA, DEA, EEOC, ADA, and the Department of Labor. Develop and maintain procedures necessary to meet regulatory requirements.
Frequently connect with Heartland RDO to ensure the practice and teams have everything they need to ensure high performance client satisfaction.
Partners with Heartland’s Support Center as needed to grow the business.
Any other duties deemed necessary.
Requirements / Qualifications
Ability to work on weekends when needed
High school diploma or equivalent
Previous management experience is required
Previous veterinary medicine experience is preferred
Ability to lift patients and carry equipment up to 25 pounds; ability to lift patients or carry equipment over 25 pounds with assistance
Oversee OSHA safety techniques including use of proper PPE
Computer skills, MS office applications, etc.
Basic math and ability to calculate medication dosages
Strong communication skills to ensure patient safety
